Therapists face a widening number of ethical challenges in practice. Traditional client challenges combined with the new challenges created by technology and other sources have complicated ethical practice. And making an ethical mistake can harm both clients and your ability to work as a therapist.
Fortunately, having a framework to make ethical decisions brings clarity to complicated situations. This training starts by setting a foundation in the philosophy of ethics and the guiding ethical principles common to clinical practice, and uses them to understand and make informed ethical decisions with thoughtful analysis of problem situations.
Through vignettes and real-world situations, this seminar helps therapists hone their ethical skills and identify ways to improve their ability to handle complicated ethical situations, emphasizing problem- and decision-solving processes for complex ethical situations that do not have obvious answers.
This course is available for 3 hours of Ethics Credits in addition to the general credits offered.
